    NLEP President Elected to International Economic Development Council Board

    SHREVEPORT- MONROE, La. — Scott Martinez, CEcD, President of the North Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP), was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) at IEDC's 2015 Annual Conference, which was held October 4-7  in Anchorage, AK. Martinez will serve a two-year term on the board of the largest economic development professional organization in the world serving 4,600 members.
    “I’m honored to be elected by my peers to serve on the IEDC Board of Directors.  It validates the work of NLEP for me to be selected to serve on this prestigious board,” said Scott Martinez, NLEP President. “I am excited to work with my colleagues as IEDC continues to meet the needs of the economic development profession.”

    “As the world's leading membership organization for professionals in the field of economic development, IEDC’s work has become vital to the global economy,” said IEDC Chair-elect Barry Matherly, CEcD, FM, president and CEO of Greater Richmond (VA) Partnership, Inc. “It is an honor to serve on the Board, and I look forward to working with Scott Martinez and the other members to provide leadership and service to IEDC. We will continue to move forward in fulfilling IEDC's goal of delivering quality information, education and outstanding development opportunities to its members."

    Martinez leads one of only 43 Accredited Economic Development Organizations (AEDO) in North America.  NLEP’s team of economic developers provides professional economic development services to the 14 parish region of North Louisiana, including lead generation and prospect management.
    Scott has been very active in IEDC and currently serves on its Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO) Oversight Committee. He has been an instructor at Texas A&M University’s Texas Basic Economic Development Course and is currently an instructor at the University of Southern Mississippi’s True South Basic Economic Development Course.

    NLEP's Top Event>>

    Billed as a Celebration of Economic Development, the Top Event features respected site selector, Del Boyette, President & CEO of Boyette Strategic Advisors, who will discuss economic development trends that impact North Louisiana. The Top Event will be held February 6th at Sam's Town Hotel, Shreveport, LA starting at 5:30pm with a Reception followed by the Dinner and Program at 6:30pm. NLEP's Annual Meeting is considered the largest economic development event in North Louisiana, attracting 500 attendees last year.  The Top Event will also honor NLEP's Top Award Winnners.
