Shreveport is the third largest city in Louisiana and the parish seat of Caddo Parish.
The Red River separates Shreveport from neighboring Bossier City. The metropolitan area is commonly referred to as Shreveport-Bossier, which is considered the gateway to the Ark-La-Tex, the crossroads where Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas meet.
